Knife-Wielding Driver Faces Charges After Road Rage Clash in West Nipissing

ONE PERSON IS CHARGED AFTER A ROAD RAGE EVENT

Police arrested and charged one person after a report of a road rage incident.

On March 14, 2024, shortly before 12:30 p.m., Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a weapon complaint on Dutrisac Road, West Nipissing.

It was reported that two vehicles had been involved in a road rage incident on Highway 17 and pulled onto a side road to confront each other. One driver brandished a knife, while uttering a threat to harm the other driver.

As a result of the investigation, Steven DENIS, 32-years-old, from North Bay, was arrested and charged with, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on April 4, 2024.
