ONE PERSON IS CHARGED AFTER FOLLOWING ANOTHER VEHICLE

(MARKSTAY-WARREN, ON) – Police arrested and charged one person after continuously following another vehicle.

On September 19, 2023, shortly before 1:00 p.m., members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to domestic disturbance on Highway 17, Markstay-Warren.

A vehicle was being followed by another vehicle, operated by a previous partner on the highway.

Police located the vehicles and conducted a traffic stop with both vehicles; one driver was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, a 43-year-old person from West Nipissing, was charged with:

Criminal harassment – repeatedly follow
Resist Peace Officer
Obstruct Peace Officer
Mischief – domestic
Dangerous operation

The accused was held for Bail Court and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury in September 2023.

To protect the identity of the victim, the accused name and court date will not be released.
