THREE PEOPLE ON CHURCH ST. CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE DRUG OFFENCES

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – Police arrested and charged three people with drugs and weapons related offences.

On August 28, 2023, members from the Community Street Crime (CSC) and the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), executed a Controlled Drug Substance Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence on Church Street, West Nipissing.

A search of the residences led to the seizure of drug paraphernalia, Canadian currency, digital scales, edged weapons, air guns and drugs suspected to be fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine. The value of the drugs seized is believed to be approximately $21,400.

As a result of the investigation, three people have been arrested:

Angela CAMPBELL, 34-years-of-age, from West Nipissing was charged with:

  • Fail to comply with Probation Order
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – four counts
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada
  • Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose

Jean PHILLIPPE, 47-years-of-age, from West Nipissing was charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – four counts
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada
  • Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order

Both accused were held for Bail Court and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on August 30, 2023, in North Bay.

Shawn DOUVILLE, 36-years-of-age from West Nipissing was charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – four counts
  • Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada

The accused was release and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on October 5, 2023, in North Bay.
