West Nipissing Ouest – Sturgeon Falls, Verner, St Charles, Field and Area News (WEST NIPISSING, ON) – On June 8, 2023, shortly after 1:00 p.m. members of the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft from a local business on Parker Street, West Nipissing.
An employee observed a young person leaving the business with merchandise that was not purchased.
As a result of the investigation, a 13-year-old-person, from West Nipissing, was charged with, theft under $5000- shoplifting.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in August 2023, in North Bay.
The OPP will not be releasing the name of the accused under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
