Search warrant on Railway Street results in Opioid trafficking charges.

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – On August 30, 2022, members from the Community Street Crime (CSC) and the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), executed a Controlled Drug Substance Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence on Railway Street, West Nipissing (Sturgeon Falls).

A search of the residences led to the seizure of drug paraphernalia, Canadian currency, digital scales, and drugs suspected to be fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine. The value of the drugs seized is believed to be approximately $1,230.

As a result of the investigation, Eric JODOUIN, 36-years-of-age from West Nipissing was arrested and charged with:

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin), contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine, contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA
Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code (CC)
Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada, contrary to section 354(1) of the CC

The accused was release on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on October 6, 2022, in West Nipissing.
