Suspected Fentanyl Arrests in Dokis First Nation

(DOKIS FIRST NATION, ON) – On December 3, 2020, officers from the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit with the assistance of Anishinabek Police Service (APS) executed a search warrant on Subdivision Road in Dokis First Nation.

As a result of the search warrant, officers located over $5000 in Canadian currency and a quantity of suspected fentanyl. The drugs have a street value of approximately $8000.

As a result of this investigation, three people from Dokis First Nation have been charged.

Brian LARIVIERE, age 56, and Tina LARIVIERE, age 55, were charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA); and
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC).

Brian LARIVIERE Jr., age 26 was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA;
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC;
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the CC; and
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid contrary to section 4(1) of the CC.

All accused were held in custody  pending bail.
