West Nipissing Ouest – Sturgeon Falls, Verner, St Charles, Field and Area News On May 2, 2020 at 3:00 p.m., officers from the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the West Nipissing Emergency Medical Services (EMS), responded to a report of a possible drowning on Lake Nipissing in the Municipality of West Nipissing (Lavigne).
The victim, Gregory HICKS, age 62, from West Nipissing, was located in the water inside the boathouse and transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is ongoing under the direction of the Office of the Chief Coroner and Forensic Pathology Service (OCC-FPS). Foul play is not suspected.
