SUSPICIOUS PERSON ARRESTED AND CHARGED

 As a result of the investigation, Taylor BLAIS, age 31, of no fixed address, was charged with:

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – On April 3, 2020 at 7:25 p.m., members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspicious person at a property on Cache Bay Road in the Municipality of West Nipissing.

Officers attended the scene and found the person had made a fire in someone’s backyard fire pit. Upon being told there was a fire ban in place and to leave the area, the individual began yelling profanities at the officers and was subsequently arrested for causing a disturbance.

As a result of the investigation, Taylor BLAIS, age 31, of no fixed address, was charged with:

  •  Causing a Disturbance, contrary to section 175(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC);
  • Resist Peace Officer, contrary to section 129(a) of the CC; and
  • Engage in Prohibited Activity on Premises, contrary to section 2(1)(a)(ii) of the Trespass to Property Act (TPA).

The accused was released by way of an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on June 30, 2020 in North Bay.
