COLLISION RESULTS IN IMPAIRED BY DRUG AND POSSESSION OF HEROIN CHARGE

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – On August 9, 2019, at approximately 4:50 a.m., members of the West Nipissing Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Leblanc Road in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario.

Officers attended the scene and located the uninjured driver and lone occupant of the vehicle.

As a result of police investigation a 21 year old female from West Nipissing, Ontario, has been charged with the following:

  • Operation While Impaired – Drugs, contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC); and
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Heroin, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)

The accused was issued a 90-day Automatic Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

The accused has been released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on September 5, 2019 in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario.
