Jocko Point is experiencing severe flooding; residents are actively sandbagging.
Volunteers are needed to help fill sandbags – even an hour makes a difference! Free BBQ TODAY (May 15) in Jocko Point by the Anishinabek Police Service
When:
Wednesday, May 15, 2019 – Free BBQ from noon to 1pm by APS Volunteers needed TODAY and for the rest of the week.
Where:
Jocko Point Fire Hall – 1082 Jocko Point Road, Nipissing First Nation
Who:
Everyone is welcome to attend the BBQ.
Anyone can volunteer for any length of time – report to the Jocko Point Fire Hall.
Why:
Jocko Point residents need as much support as they can get as they continue to battle severe flooding that began one week ago. The situation threatens to get worse due to rainfall and snowmelt in northern regions, which are causing Lake Nipissing to continue rising daily by approximately 1-2 cm.
