West Nipissing Police Services to OPP Transition Update

The West Nipissing Police Service is informing the public that as of June 6, 2019, policing responsibility of West Nipissing is being turned over to the Ontario Provincial Police.

WNPS police headquarters situated at 225 Holditch Street, Sturgeon Falls will be closed effective June 6, and therefore any matter requiring police assistance must be reported to the Ontario Provincial Police. Residents of the municipality still has access to 911 and all dispatches whether for police, fire or ambulance should be made using that number in case of an emergency.

Beginning May 1 the local police service will no longer be conducting Police Record Checks, anyone requiring a Police Record Check is asked to attend the OPP detachment in North Bay, Warren or Sudbury to submit their request.

After June 6, anyone requiring other forms of paperwork or information will have to attend the temporary police quarters situated at 216 John Street, Sturgeon Falls.
