Break and Enter on King Street

On January 27th 2019 near 3:04 am police responded to a complaint of a break and enter in progress situated at the North end of King Street. Police were alerted by neighbours who had been awakened to sounds described as breaking or smashing. Officer’s arrived on scene and detected that an unknown culprit had gained entry to an outside shed and to the residence by breaking a garage entry door and subsequently entering the home, searching for items of value. Police searched the surrounding area where they located a suitcase in a nearby snowbank. The contents appear to have come from the residence. It is unknown if other items are missing. The culprit is described to be a male, wearing a Camo style jacket, dark pants and an item covering his face. The investigation is ongoing.

On February 2nd 2019 Police were dispatched to a shoplifting matter at a local Store situated on William Street. Two persons, one female and one male, were suspected by staff to have stolen footwear by discarding their old property in exchange for new ones. Video Security captured the event and the two persons have been identified. They are being sought by police at this time. Charges are outstanding.

On January 30th and February 11th 2019 Police were dispatched to a property damage complaint at one of the local business situated along Front Street. The owner of the establishment reports his windows damaged by what is described as marble type objects. The damages are estimated at $600. The investigation is ongoing.
