During the early morning hours of December 4, West Nipissing Police Service officers were on general patrol on John Street in Sturgeon Falls. The officers observed a man walking in the area, a short time later the officers observed same man walking out from behind a building. The officers questioned the man and located his backpack hidden a short distance away.
Upon searching the man and the backpack, police seized a substantial amount of street drugs and money. Officers seized over 16 grams of suspected Purple H (heroine/fentanyl mixture), 13 grams of cocaine, 17 grams of Crystal Meth, over 1700 methamphetamine pills (speed), 158 grams of marijuana, and over $2500.00 cash. The street value of the drugs is estimated at approximately $26,000.
42 year old, Jean Claude Philippe of Sturgeon Falls now faces five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of property obtained by crime and breach of Probation.
