Vanthof enjoying new role as NDP Deputy Leader

Timiskaming-Cochrane MPP and new NDP Deputy Leader John Vanthof says it was an honour to be appointed to the position.

Vanthof was in Kirkland Lake on Wednesday and spoke about his new role as well as the recent session of the legislature.

“The way our caucus positions are picked is the leader (Andrea Horwath) asks what positions we would like and the position I have always lobbied for is agriculture and rural affairs. So I was real happy when I was appointed to that, and at the time that was announced I was asked by the leader if I would be interested in being Deputy Leader. I was a bit shell shocked. I am looking forward to the challenge.”

Vanthof went on to explain what his new position entails and the added responsibilities he will be taking on.
