$8,000 Drug Bust and Car Break Ins.

The West Nipissing Police Service executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant at an Arthur Street residence in Sturgeon Falls. During the search police seized an assortment of drugs including, methamphetamine pills, Hydromorphone, Fentanyl, Percocet, cocaine, crack cocaine and Canadian currency. Four adults, two men and two women of Sturgeon Falls face a variety of drug related charges. The street value of the drugs seized is estimated to be in excess of $8,000.

The West Nipissing Police Service continues to receive and are currently investigating a number of thefts from motor vehicles. Occurrences have been reported in the Demers, Mageau, Salter and William street areas. Culprit(s) are targeting unlocked vehicles and once accessed they are taking personal items such as wallets, identification, electronics and money. Residents are reminded to lock their vehicles and to report suspicious people to the police.

A 31 year old Sturgeon Falls man is facing charges of breaching his release conditions. On April 28th police observed the man entering a local convenience store and knowing that the man was to
abide by a curfew the officers engaged the man in conversation. The individual did not have a valid reason for being away from his residence and now faces a charge of breaching his undertaking.

Local police are investigating a theft in the Rainville road area of Lavigne. Police learned that culprit(s) attended the property and while there used cutting torches to remove an axle from a
utility trailer. The complainant believes the axle to be worth approximately $1000. The investigation is ongoing.

Police are investigating a break and enter after receiving a complaint from an Arthur Street resident. Police learned that the home owner was from the residence and upon his return discovered culprit(s) had entered the house and had stolen multiple electronics, including a laptop computer, PS4 video game console along with a variety of games, and a large flat screen television.
