NICKEL BELT/GREATER SUDBURY, August 10, 2017— The governments of Canada and Ontario are committed to investing in local infrastructure that ensures Canadians and their families have access to better community services and modern and up-to-date community infrastructure that meet their needs. Marc Serré, Member of Parliament for Nickel Belt, today announced on behalf of the Honourable Amarjeet Sohi, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, that a new project in St.-Charles has been approved under the Government of Canada’s Clean Water and Waste Water Fund. The federal government is providing up to 50 per cent of funding for this project—$11,250. The provincial government is providing $5,625, and the Municipality of St.-Charles will provide the balance of funding. This project is essential to keeping our waterways clean and our communities healthy and livable. Additionally, MP Serré announced a total investment of $77,954 through the federal Gas Tax Fund for the Municipality of St.-Charles. The GTF funding supports hundreds of local infrastructure projects that address the most pressing needs of local residents and businesses, from improving drinking water to building new recreational facilities. Thanks to these investments, residents of St.-Charles will benefit from a new and improved wastewater

Thanks to these investments, residents of St.-Charles will benefit from a new and improved wastewater flow meter as well as long-term funding to help ensure access to good middle-class jobs, increased mobility, greater economic opportunities, sustainable communities and a high quality of life.
