Subject Sexual Assault and Drug Charges Laid

On January 7th 2016, the West Nipissing Police Service received information that a female was in danger and being held against her will at a River Valley residence.

Police attended the residence to investigate and upon their arrival spoke with the female victim who was visibly distraught. Police learned that the female had been assaulted and that the accused was dangerous.

The male suspect was located within the residence at which time he was arrested. While in the residence police observed controlled substances. The involved parties were removed from the residence and police sought judicial authorization to search the residence.

A Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant was obtained at which time police returned to the residence and conducted a search. Police seized cocaine, oxycodone, marijuana, cannabis resin, MDMA, and drug paraphernalia.

The 57 year old River Valley resident now faces charges of possession of controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, assault and sexual assault.
