Tenants confirmed for Minnehaha Bay Waterfront Park

In a media interview and general release today, West Nipissing Ouest Mayor Joanne Savage confirmed recent rumors that the municipality has entered into agreements with two private businesses to occupy and operate the Minnehaha Bay Waterfront Complex.

Greg Demers, President of the West Nipissing Chamber of Commerce and owner of the new KOA Campground at 818 Lalande Road, formerly operating as Lalande Marina, has agreed to operate the marina portion of Minnehaha under the KOA banner. “This is an excellent fit with my existing business situated a few kilometers downstream. Under the KOA banner, the Marina will benefit from an extensive network of KOA facilities throughout North America.”

Sandra Shank, new Twiggs Coffee Roasters franchisee for West Nipissing brings the very popular Twiggs brand to Sturgeon Falls and will be operating a typical Twiggs light-fare restaurant out of the Minnehaha Bay Restaurant. Ms. Shank had been looking for suitable locations to establish the franchise and is quite enthusiastic about partnering with the Municipality.

“We are so pleased that we were successful at partnering with such great quality brands, great quality businesses and great quality people” said Mayor Savage. “I have no doubt that both KOA and Twiggs will be successful in this great location. This is positive news for our community and a big step forward in assuring the success of the Minnehaha bay Waterfront Project” added an enthusiastic Mayor Savage.

The KOA Marina is scheduled to be operational by July 6th, 2012 while Twiggs restaurant is tentatively looking at an August 1st, 2012 opening.  The Municipality is planning to host a grand opening event later this Summer to showcase the Minnehaha Bay Waterfront Park.

Well today my wife brought me to Twiggs for lunch and the experience gave me a change of heart. Sitting down in the restaurant enjoying a great sandwich and amazing smoothy overlooking the bay real made me see how this upgrade at the Goverment dock (like us local call it) is something really nice for Sturgeon Falls. The decoration andset up a the dock is really nice andI see myself being a frequent customer by car and boat.

I invite everyone to go and check out, go to twiggs and enjoy a refreshment and a bit to eat and look at the nice scenery. I regret my previous letter Aug 3 2012 and if I could erase it I would. It is truly a nice place and please go enjoy it.
