On the air with Steph at Moose FM 99.3

Earlier this week, Steph Larouche from Moose FM 99.3 West Nipissing gave us a call to see if I’d be open to helping him judge the photo entries for their Mother’s Day Mother-Daughter-Son look-a-like contest. Naturally, I jumped at the opportunity. I hadn’t been on the radio in over 8 or 9 years, since Bill Gingras and I aired our weekly “The Show with Bill and Marc” over the course of that one Summer.

Steph invited me to sit in with him this morning as a representative of the Digital Photography Club of West Nipissing and I was happy to oblige. Judging the 9 Mother-Daughter-Son look-a-like photo submissions proved more difficult than I’d anticipated as they were all very good. In the end, April Dagg and her son Theo won us over. Personally, similarities aside, I simply loved the yellow rain slicker hats and big smiles! The contest also received over 100 votes on Facebook, which helped us out enormously.

April and Theo (Photo #6) won $300.00 of prizes from: Four Seasons the Highway Store and the Country Store, A touch by Angel Decorating, Nipissing Flower Shoppe, Imagine Massage Therapy, Chez Jean-Marc Bakery and Don’s Butcher Shop. 2nd place went to Peggy and Taylor Goulard (Photo #1) while 3rd went to Chantal Gauvreau with daughters Jeannick & Quaysia Joly (Photo #7) – with only 1 point separating them.

I spent over an hour in the booth with Steph this morning which gave us a chance to chat about the Digital Photography Club, WestNipissingOuest.com and a host of other things. I had a fantastic time hanging out with Steph and hope we get a chance to do it again soon!
